  • 500g of clay
  • Use of tools, stamps, lace & cutters
  • Choice of underglazes for decorating
  • Bisque and glaze firing of your finished piece

Just bring your ideas and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy (aprons welcome too!)—I’ll guide you along the way to help bring your creation to life.

How It Works

Arrival

Come to the supper room a few minutes before. Havng an idea of what you want to make can be helpful so check out my instagram page or pinterest for inspo. Once you’re settled, I’ll hand you your clay and walk you through the process.

Create Your Piece

This is your time to explore! Use pinching, coiling, or slab-building techniques to form your piece. You’ll also have access to my collection of tools, stamps, lace, and cutters to add textures and patterns.

Paint with Underglaze

Before your session ends, you can paint your piece with underglaze colours to add detail and personality. This will be a one-off session, so you’ll leave the rest to me.

What Happens Next

Drying

Your piece will be set aside to dry thoroughly. This is essential to prevent cracking or breakage during firing.

Bisque Firing

Once fully dry, your creation is fired at around 1064°C (cone 4) for its first firing. This process takes about 24 hours.

Clear Glaze

After the bisque firing, I apply a clear, food-safe glaze by hand. This adds shine and enhances your colours.

Glaze Firing

Your piece then goes back into the kiln for a second firing at around 1220°C (cone 6), which takes approximately 30 hours.

Collection

When your ceramic piece is finished (typically 3–4 weeks, sometimes sooner), I’ll arrange delivery.

Important Info

  • All bookings are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled, due to limited space and high demand.
  • Private group sessions are available—please contact Debbie on 027 433 2720to discuss options.
