Event description
Be a part of the great reimagining of the future of Aotearoa New Zealand.

About this Event

There is an urgent need to plan Aotearoa New Zealand’s recovery post-Covid-19. New Zealand’s Government and Business Leaders will be coming together for the Fenwick Forum to identify ideas to put the recovery, and our future on a more sustainable path.

The Future Voices Forum, an input to the Fenwick Forum, is an opportunity for University of Auckland students and staff to help inform New Zealand Government and Business. They want the best and brightest of New Zealand to rip up orthodox ideas and challenge the establishment. They want your perspective on designing the future of New Zealand.

Imagine if there is to be $20 Billion spent on solving problems in these areas, then what solutions could you create?

What’s involved

The Future Voices Forum is an online event and workshop where you will learn about the challenges faced by industry sectors based around our natural capital. You will then have the opportunity to ideate solutions and opportunities, assisted by a facilitator.

Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM, QSO Governor-General of New Zealand, will open the forum and be there to hear your conclusions.

Sectors explored will include NZ’s Food System, NZ’s Energy System, and NZ’s Transport Systems.

Benefits to participants include:

  • Opportunity to develop skills around ideation and articulation
  • Opportunity to inform New Zealand Government and Business Leaders and inform policy and strategy including CEOs from Air New Zealand, Fonterra, Ministry of the Environment and more
  • Opportunity to connect with like-minded students and staff
  • Opportunity to think big – stretch yourself to create solutions to critical issues and impact our nation’s future

Details: Online event taking place Thursday 4 June, 4pm - 6pm. Registrations close Tuesday 2 June.

The Future Voices Forum is brought to you in partnership with the Aotearoa Circle - a unique partnership of public and private sector leaders, unified and committed to the pursuit of sustainable prosperity and reversing the decline of New Zealand’s natural resources.
