Event description
Please join us for GEN's 9th Annual General Meeting preceded by the "Economics of the Future" networking event.

About this event

GEN is hosting an informal networking event alongside its AGM. Our guest speakers are Dominick Stephens, Deputy Secretary, Chief Economic Adviser at The Treasury and Donna Purdue, Chief Economist at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

As a profession, we’re turning our eyes to the future and examining how we can strengthen our longer-term economic advice to government. Dominick will talk to the long-term drivers the Treasury is focussing on, including in those explored in their combined Long-Term Fiscal Statement and Long-Term Insights Briefing. Donna will talk about new economic thinking and the work on ‘future challenges’ underway at MBIE. Their discussion will give attendees an interesting perspective on longer-term thinking using both macro and micro lenses.

This event will start at 5.30pm at the same venue as the AGM and is open to GEN members and non-members.

Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
