Event description
To celebrate International Women's Day 2020, WWLA is hosting a cross-professional panel discussion.

About this Event

UN Women has announced that the theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. The theme is aligned with UN Women’s new multigenerational campaign, Generation Equality, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

"I am Generation Equality in the Professions" is the theme for our event.

We have fabulous speakers from engineering, the medical profession, accounting, the health sector, and the legal profession:

  • Dr Charlotte Chambers (Director of Policy and Research, Association of Salaried Medical Specialists)
  • Julia Fink (CFO at Upper Hutt City Council; member of Chartered Accountants Australia and NZ)
  • Susan Freeman-Greene (CE, Engineering NZ)
  • Dr Juliet Rumball-Smith (Clinical Chief Advisor at Ministry of Health; public health physician and epidemiologist; founder of Wahine Connect)
  • Lynell Tuffery Huria (Principal, AJ Park Intellectual Property Law)

The panelists will be discussing issues such as: the challenges for this generation in various professions; actions for culture change; obstacles in the traditional workplace for generation equality; leadership; pay equity; workplace diversity; and much more.

Join us for drinks and canapes in the foyer before the discussion. This will be a popular event, so book your ticket early to avoid disappointment!
