Khadi Beyond Borders

Khadi Beyond Borders

Overview

Rajesh Pratap Singh headlines a solo Khadi showcase, followed by presentations from Shruti Sancheti, Samant Chauhan and Pawan Sachdeva.

Highlighting Khadi in contemporary forms for a global audience, Indian designer Rajesh Pratap Singh will headline with a dedicated solo showcase, followed by a collaborative presentation featuring Shruti Sancheti, Samant Chauhan and Pawan Sachdeva.

Handspun, meticulously hand-woven, Khadi is a long-standing symbol of artisanal prowess and to elevate it further, India’s leading designers will narrate distinctive stories.

The Khadi Beyond Borders show will feature a solo presentation from one of India’s most influential designers Rajesh Pratap Singh, renowned for redefining contemporary fashion through precision tailoring and understated elegance. His unmatched attention to details, raw beauty and classic silhouettes has earned him critical acclaim across global fashion platforms.

Singh’s solo presentation will be followed by a group show featuring Samant Chauhan who works with heritage-rooted silhouettes, Nagpur-based Shruti Sancheti bringing her signature philosophy of understated luxury offering contemporary ethos, and Delhi-based menswear guru Pawan Sachdeva evens out this trio with experimental, street-inflected menswear, telling us Khadi can be “cool”.

This showcase is part of the ongoing collaboration between the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW), formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at creating a global platform for emerging and established designers from India and New Zealand.
