Get creative with foil embossing techniques guided by artist Sahana Rahman in this fun, hands-on workshop.
Foil Embossed Frame Workshop
Join artist Sahana Rahman at the Makerspace in Botany Library for a hands-on foil embossing workshop inspired by South Asian decorative traditions and sustainable art-making practices.
Drawing from her current artistic practice, Sahana explores storytelling, identity, and material transformation through upcycled materials such as aluminium cans, foil trays, and reclaimed textiles. In this workshop, participants will learn simple foil embossing techniques to create their own decorative frame using recycled aluminium & foil trays.
Through guided mark-making and embossing, you'll explore pattern, texture, and symbolism while creating a unique piece inspired by your own stories, memories, and cultural influences. Suitable for beginners and experienced creatives alike, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment, learn a new skill, and transform everyday materials into something meaningful.
