Description
Join us to discuss why capturing accurate heights matters and how this new height reference system, the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016), can benefit your region and New Zealand at large.
Following the success of a similar event in Hawke’s Bay, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) is organising a series of hui in five regions over the next few months. These events consist of two separate meetings.
First Session: Introduction to NZVD2016 for council staff involved in decision making that uses height or sea level data, in which we will be discussing how the NZVD2016 compares to the previous NZVD2009 system and local datums, and will highlight the opportunities and how to overcome challenges of implementing the new system.
Second Session: Technical Aspects of NZVD2016 for Survey and Spatial New Zealand members and other professionals, in which be discussing the technical details of how you can switch from using the local vertical datum to the new NZVD2016.
S+SNZ members are eligible for 2 CPD points for attending this event (add these points on your Dashbord)
A light snack will be provided.
