For the first six weeks we will be exploring Ekphrastic Poetry.

Ekphrastic poetry is poetry written in response to a work of art. A well-known example is Keats’ Ode on a Grecian Urn, which we’ll explore together.

We will meet on Wednesdays from 2 to about 3.30 PM around the dining room table at Cherish in this 6 week series to discuss, respond to prompts, and write your own poetry if you’d like to! Attendance at every session is not a requirement; join whatever dates you can.

CR (Candy) Green, an American transplant to Aotearoa, has experienced life through writing lyrics, short stories, creative non-fiction and poetry. Last year here in Christchurch a chapbook was published by ngapukapukapekapeka press. Her writing has found publishing homes in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia.

There’s no cost to attend, but donations to support Cherish are always warmly appreciated.
