About this event

What is a Soldering Iron?

A soldering iron is used for melting solder to join electrical components together, such as resistors, capacitors, and circuit boards.

Before you book

Please ensure that you have completed the following two steps in Canvas before you book this practice session:

1. Complete our online orientation.

2. Complete our online preparation module for the soldering station (you will need to have completed online orientation to gain access to this page.)

About this practice session

You will be provided with an in-person walkthrough of how to use the soldering station by our Maker Space Coordinator or a Creative Technologist. The purpose is to ensure that you have a practical understanding of how to operate the equipment. Once our Maker Space Coordinator is satisfied that you are able to safely operate the equipment, you will be free to use it whenever you wish.
