Sunset at the Basin

Meeting at the Panmure Skate Park in Lagoon Drive and wander along the Panmure Basin as afternoon turn to night.

This great location has abundant wildlife, beautiful scenery, boats and briliant but hidden light displays

As the day loosens its grip and the light begins to soften, we’ll wander in the in-between moments where the basin tansforms itself.

It's a great place to follow the light as it changes, and let photographs emerge rather than be chased. You’ll be walking alongside a friendly, supportive group of photographers, each seeing the same space slightly differently.

What You’ll See and Photograph

• Landscapes changing as day turns to night
• Wildlife coming home to roost
• Tree canopies and winding paths dissolving into layered shadows and soft contrast
• Still water and quiet reflections in the lake, catching the last light and the first hints of night
• Hidden spaces and light view you didn't know existed
• People moving through the park as the day comes to an end, with small gestures and fleeting moments
• The gradual shift from golden hour to blue hour, where mood replaces detail and light becomes the subject

What to Bring

• Your camera or smartphone
• A tripod (handy for long exposures, but not essential)
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Curiosity and an open mind — this is all about exploring and having fun!

• We’ll wrap up around 7:00PM as the last of the light fades away.
