He kaupapa rangahau mō ngā uri o Taranaki; cultivating research that serves Taranaki Māori communities.
Te One Kakara is a gathering of Taranaki researchers aimed at sharing and cultivating new ideas, research, and knowledge for the prosperity of our people. The kaupapa draws inspiration from a historical narrative involving Kupe, who instructed Turi on how to find a fertile place to settle based on the "sweet scent of the soil," symbolising the importance of research and observation. This narrative celebrates the scientific achievements of our ancestors in both navigation and settlement, emphasising the value of data gathering, information transmission, and collective benefit.
