Free whānau fun event

About this Event

Come along with your whānau for a free, fun kaitahi day. The idea of kaitahi is a coming together to share kai (food) and in doing so connecting to share ideas and to celebrate the positives of healthy whānau.

The 6th of December is Te Rā Mokopuna (National Safe Sleep Day). The aim of this day is raise awareness about Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), with the vision of reducing the rate in which it occurs in our communities. SUDI is preventable and the risk factors for our pēpi can be significantly reduced with the uptake of the key messages.

Te Rā Mokopuna is about promoting the messages to support the national SUDI prevention programme to enable everyone to provide a safe sleep for pēpi for every sleep.
