Telling Open Data Stories: Auckland
Event Information
Description
Stats NZ is committed to improving the quality and accessibility of open government data – and accelerating the amount of data being released.
We are now running this consultation because we want to gather information on the value and use of open data in New Zealand.
We’re looking for stories from users, and potential users, of open government data: What data are you using? How are you using it? How might you use it in the future?
Workshop details:
We’ll be holding workshops in Wellington and Auckland.
Come along to share your thoughts on the potential uses of open data, talk about open data case studies and share lessons learnt.
Dynamic facilitators
The workshops will be facilitated by Dan Randow.
Networking
The sessions provide a great opportunity to meet others with an interest in open data – from inside and outside government.
You’ll have the opportunity to share your views on open data principles and discuss these with others.
Bring a friend?
We want to hear as many voices as possible: feel free to tell people what’s happening and invite a friend or colleague to come along.
The workshops are for anyone who would like to attend. If you are new to open data, a current user or a government data champion, you’re welcome to join us.
Workshop overview and objectives
The first session in the morning will be tailored towards potential users. You’ll get a comprehensive run down on the use and value of open data.
The session after morning tea will talk about use of open data. You’ll discuss potential uses, case studies and next steps in the programme. We’ll also give you an update on the engagement process so far.
Workshop objectives;
- Share an update on open data changes underway and invite your ongoing involvement
- Invite your open data stories and explore the best way to capture and share case studies
- Discuss current and potential use cases- and how we might encourage them
We hope to see you there! Feel free to subscribe yourself here to stay informed about what’s happening in open data in NZ.
