Explore the urban gem that is Smiths Bush, a magnificent remnant of kahikitea forest and cathedral grove of puriri.

About this Event

Smiths Bush was first owned by Thomas Drummond (1849), but named after James and Catherine Smith, who owned and conserved the bush from 1909-34 when it was acquired as a reserve.

Join The Tree Council's guided walking tour led by urban tree researcher Penny Cliffin. Take the Northcote Rd offramp from the Northern Motorway and park at the Onewa Domain carpark on Northcote Rd. Meet at the adjacent Takapuna Cricket Club at 10am on Saturday 3 October 2020.

A moderate level of fitness is required. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

Bookings are strictly limited and must be made in advance. This tour will sell out quickly.

Cost $20 (plus booking fee) to support the work of The Tree Council.

Directions: Take the Northcote Rd offramp from the Northern Motorway and park at the Onewa Domain carpark on Northcote Rd. Meet at the adjacent Takapuna Cricket Club.
