Event description
The Whetū i te Rangi Symposium will highlight the work and research occurring in palliative care with Māori across Aotearoa New Zealand.

About this Event

Whetū i te Rangi will foster discussion and will explore how hospice and palliative care can contribute to a well-supported transition towards the end of life for Māori.

This one-day symposium will promote exchange between whānau, practitioners, researchers and those working in the community about the unique nature of working in this growing specialist area.

We especially look forward to exploring the Pae Herenga resources and research findings from the Te Arai Palliative Care Research Group.

Mary Potter Hospice is grateful for the support of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga to host this symposium.

Symposium Scholarships

With thanks to the ongoing support and generosity of our national partner, the Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga we are pleased to be able to offer scholarships to attend this symposium.

Mary Potter Hospice is committed to growing health care professionals in palliative care. Health inequity and the underpinning related issues are high on our agenda which is reflected in the aim of the Symposium.

Symposium Scholarships cover the cost of symposium registration fees only. Applicants must be New Zealand residents or citizens, and must be involved in Māori health and/or wellbeing. More information about the scholarships will be made available soon.
