Exotic Urban Nursery - The Garden Factory - NZTCA field trip
Event Information
About this event
We visit new members Leanne (a chef and chocolatier) and Andy (food and chocolate eater) who are longtime passionate gardeners, having experimented with countless fruits and vegetables and enjoying a number of failures along the way. They've set up an urban nursery and grow herbs, fruit, vegetables and some exotic plants at their suburban home. They’ve managed to spread the gardening bug to their sons, who love getting involved with the growing process. As a bonus, they’re also learning lots about nature and understanding where our food comes from. They are all very excited for you to be a part of our garden tour.
As is our tradition, we will have plant sales available at excellent prices. Bring cash or be prepared to do a bank transfer on the day to cover your purchases. If you have surplus trees or edible plants, feel free to donate them to the plant sale, all proceeds go to support your NZTCA branch.
We recommend the use of masks and social distancing for this event.
BYO lunch to eat picnic style.
NB: we originally planned to visit a heritage apple grower in Grenada as part of this event, unfortunately that has had to be postponed.
