Event description
In this seminar we'll talk about receiving an unexpected diagnosis in pregnancy, making a decision, and exploring the options for parents.

About this Event

If you work in maternity, or with parents, families and whānau after the death of a baby, whether in pregnancy, around birth, or as an infant or child then you will find this seminar helpful and informative. Vicki Culling, PhD, is a bereaved parent and is considered an expert in the area of perinatal and infant loss, bereavement and support.

Vicki will examine the seldom discussed and very hard topic of facing an unexpected diagnosis in pregnancy. We will talk about how to support parents in making a decision, explore the options of continuing a pregnancy (Holding On) and terminating or inducing a pregnancy (Letting Go), and explore how to provide support and what resources are available.

You will leave this seminar feeling more confident in your knowledge of this area of maternity, and in your interactions with parents and whānau who are faced with an unexpected diagnosis.
